Challenges We’re Facing

Due to these funding cuts, we’ve had to scale back several critical programs:

  • Program Cancellations: Our leadership training and educational workshops, which offered support for mental, physical, and emotional well-being, have been postponed or canceled. These programs were about more than just cycling—they were essential in bringing people together, building trust, and fostering leadership within our community.
Staff Layoffs: Budget cuts have led to a reduction in our operational team, placing an increased workload on our remaining staff and volunteers, making it more difficult to continue our mission.
Reduced Equipment Access: Due to financial constraints, we are unable to fund the necessary bike maintenance and repairs, limiting opportunities for new riders to get involved.

Impact on Our Community

The women we serve are also feeling the effects of these funding challenges:

  • Fewer Opportunities: With fewer resources, there are less opportunities for participation, which affects the health, mobility, and confidence of women in our community.
Increased Barriers: Many participants, especially those who rely on free bikes and training, can no longer access these crucial resources due to financial limitations.
Lost Connections: With fewer events and activities, the vital sense of community and support that LEB provides is diminished.

How You Can Help

You can support LEB and help us continue empowering women by:

Donating: Your contributions help us provide essential resources to women in need and ensure that we can continue offering life-changing programs.
Spreading the Word: Help us reach more people by sharing our mission and spreading awareness about the critical work we do.

While the funding cuts are a setback, Latinas en Bici remains steadfast in our commitment to transforming Latinas through cycling and wellness. Together, we can continue to make a lasting impact.

Who We Serve

Participants of Modest Means: 68% of our participants are single mothers with low-income households.

intergenerational Riders: 64% of our participants are between 25-44 years old, 31% are over 45, and 5% are under 25.
Empowering Women through Cycling

By the end of our programs, 100% of participants have access to a bike, know how to care for it, and can confidently ride. LEB provides more than just bikes; we offer a holistic solution to serious health challenges like diabetes, hypertension, depression, and anxiety. Cycling improves physical health, reduces stress, and supports mental well-being, helping women lead healthier, more connected lives.
