Our Work
Programs!
Latinas en Bici is an organization that's all about helping Latina women and girls lead healthier and more fulfilling lives through cycling. We host FREE weekly bike rides, programs, and events that celebrate Hispanic culture. What makes us special is that we challenge the idea that Latina and immigrant women should only focus on being caregivers or homemakers.
Instead, we encourage women and young girls to ride bikes as a way to take care of their physical and emotional health. Biking is a great way to enjoy nature, stay fit, and have easier access to things like school, doctors, and other important places.
Here is a list of programs we offer:

Health and Nutrition
Nutrition is a critical factor to maintain our health. We partner with local health organizations, which provide registered nutritionists that deliver fun and informative workshops. We learn about the link between food, lifestyle and health. Focusing on how to eat well at work and discover elements of a healthy diet to feel well. Professional trainers also teach us the importance of an exercise routine to improve our physical, emotional, and mental health. We encourage everyone to come to our workshops and set personal goals to make positive and lasting changes.

Cycling Education
You do not need any prior knowledge or cycling skills to join us. We teach our riders all the basics on how to ride a bike. We have one-on-one sessions to teach you how to use your bicycle if you have never cycled before. Besides, we provide group workshops about road and mountain biking, so that our members learn the differences in each cycling discipline. We also promote safe cycling and encourage sharing of the road with other users. Effective bicycle safety education teaches us how to ride safely and how to be responsible bicycle owners. You will also learn how to navigate the trails and the NWA Greenway.
-
Technical Training
We provide bike maintenance workshops that will help you to learn how to keep your bike in top working conditions. We partner with local bike shops that provide the experts to teach the workshops. They will teach you how to adjust your bike to fit you, clean and lubricate it, repair flats, adjust brakes and shifters, replace cables. These workshops will help you to learn how the various parts of the bike work and what tools and accessories you need to maintain or repair your bicycle. You do not need any technical bicycle skills to take these workshops, but you will definitely acquire great knowledge and skills after taking them.
